Terms of Service
1. About TravelKit
TravelKit is a personal travel record. You scratch countries and regions off a world map, stamp a digital passport, plan trips with sections, to-dos and notes, keep a bucketlist of dreams, and optionally publish a read-only share page. Everything in it is created by you, for you. These terms are an agreement between you and TravelKit and govern your use of the app and any related services.
2. Your account and guest mode
You can start using TravelKit without an account; in guest mode everything you make is stored only on the device you made it on, and losing or resetting the device loses that data. Creating an account (username, email address and password) lets you sync across devices and recover your work; you must verify your email address. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live.
3. Subscription, free trial and billing
TravelKit PRO begins with a 7-day free trial. When the trial ends, your Apple App Store or Google Play account is charged automatically for the plan you selected — $1.49 per month or $12.49 per year — unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price until cancelled. Prices in your local currency are set by the store and may vary. Cancel or change plan any time in your store account; cancelling stops future charges but does not refund the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us. Restoring purchases on a new device uses your store account.
4. Read-only mode
If your trial ends without a subscription, or your subscription lapses, TravelKit enters read-only mode: everything you already created stays visible and exportable, but adding or changing content — new stamps, scratched countries, regions, trips, to-dos, notes, bucketlist items and share-page snapshots — requires an active subscription. Subscribing again restores full access to the data that was already there.
5. Your content
The photos, notes, stamps, maps, trips and bucketlist items you create are yours and we claim no ownership of them. You grant us a limited, revocable licence to store, process and display your content solely to operate the app for you — for example rendering your map, syncing between your devices, and serving a share page you chose to publish. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.
6. My TravelKit Page
Publishing My TravelKit Page is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, you choose which parts to include (passport, map, travelog) and you publish a snapshot; visitors with the link see a read-only copy and, if you allow it, can leave reactions and comments. Anyone with the link can view it — treat it as public. You can unpublish at any time, and you can hide, delete or pin individual comments. We may remove a page that breaches these terms.
7. Friends
Following another traveller requires their approval. When someone accepts your request they choose to share their travel map and bucketlist with you, read-only; their passport stamps, trips, notes, pins, email and billing details are never shared. Following is one-directional — they see nothing of yours unless you accept a request from them — and either side can remove the connection at any time.
8. Country and region lists
TravelKit follows the United Nations' list of 195 sovereign states (193 members plus the Holy See and Palestine) as its default. Because borders and territories are contested, Region Settings let you decide how disputed territories and dependent territories are counted and drawn, and which continent a transcontinental country belongs to. These are display preferences, not political statements by us, and they change your counts, stamps and suggestions accordingly.
9. Acceptable use
Do not upload content you have no right to use, that is unlawful, or that harasses, endangers or defames anyone. Do not use comments or share pages to spam or abuse others. Do not probe, disrupt, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, and do not attempt to bypass subscription checks.
10. Availability, warranties and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available"; features may change and interruptions can happen. To the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost content where you did not keep your own copy. Exports exist so you can keep your own copy — please use them.
11. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and all associated data from Profile at any time. Deletion is permanent and immediate: your passport, map, regions, trips, bucketlist, share page and comments are removed and cannot be recovered. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel that in Apple or Google separately.
12. Changes and termination
We may update the app and these terms as the product evolves. If a change meaningfully affects your rights we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use TravelKit after that means you accept the updated terms. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached. If any provision is unenforceable it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest stays in force. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
